A Short Brief
Dr. Rangaswamy Arunachalam popularly known as 'The Architect of Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Bengaluru' emerged into existence in a humble family of Sri Rangaswamy (father) and Smt. Jayamma Rangaswamy (mother). Hailing from a family of meagre means within the urban confines of Bangalore, R Arunachalam's academic pursuits unfurled amid the cultured environs of Mysore, in the St. Philomena's education institutions.

Dr. R. Arunachalam finds his guiding star in the form of Narayan Swamy, his brother, who assumes the dual mantle of mentorship and godfather for his growth and success.

Opportunities can be a chance for success, growth and personal development. Throughout his career, Dr. R. Arunachalam took advantage of every opportunity that came his way to serve the people in the masses.
45,000 Sites
Dr. R. Arunachalam was elected to the BEML Housing Society. On becoming the office bearer, he distributed and registered 15,000 plots to the employees of BEML. This is the only housing society that has succeeded in registering 15,000+ sites This was the beginning of Dr. R. Arunachalam's contribution to society.

An opportunity was given by then the Hon. Chief Minister of Karnataka Sri Bangarappa and then minister Sri S. Ramesh as the task force committee chairman to accommodate free sites for needy families. Dr. R. Arunachalam utilized this opportunity to serve people and, in his own capacities distributed 30,000 sites. This was also one of his contributions to the society.
Creation of Rajarajeshwari Nagar
The creation of one of the most happening places in Bengaluru today - Rajarajeshwari Nagar was the second opportunity for Dr. R. Arunachalam where he tirelessly worked on land acquisition, to the final township. In the process Dr. R. Arunachalam became the founder and architect of Rajarajeshwari Nagar and executed a full-fledged township consisting of more than 6,000 sites. Dr. R. Arunachalam's contribution to society by laying a pathway for the progress of Rajarajeshwari Nagar is reaping unfathomable results and it is evidently visible today.
Best Club - Founder & Creator
Dr. R. Arunachalam firmly believed that club culture is not only meant for royal people and the elite class of society. During the layout formation phase in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Dr. R. Arunachalam created the BEST CLUB with state-of-the-art facilities and features for the BEML employees. The sports facilities in the Best Club have become a stepping stone for national and international level athletes in various sports. This is a sincere contribution by Dr. R. Arunachalam to the BEML employees and their families.
BET Convent School
While the magnanimous Rajarajeshwari Nagar was taking shape, it was important to bring basic infrastructure and amenities to the township where the employees of BEML had their plots owned. Recognizing this need, Dr. R. Arunachalam constructed a school that can accommodate 1,000 children. A school bus was also arranged to ensure children not only in Rajarajeshwari Nagar but also from surrounding areas get a chance to pursue education in this institution. To this day, the BET (BEML Education Trust) Convent school has completed 25+ years and laid a strong foundation for 1000s of students who have gone on to be highly successful in their own fields of expertise. From political leaders to sports professionals to cinema actors, BET Convent has been a launch pad.
Converting Barren Hill lock to a Paradise
Right from childhood, it was Dr. R. Arunachalam's interest to take up tasks and challenges that no one could take up. One such challenge that was taken and exceedingly succeeded in achieving was converting a barren Hill lock into a paradise called as 'Shakthi Hill Resort'. A rocky barren land that others outrightly rejected was willingly opted in by Dr. R Arunachalam to develop into a place that later went on to become an iconic gateway for holidays. Shakthi Hill Resort became a shooting destination for filmmakers, photographers, event organizers, kids and family recreations. This achievement is a special contribution for students pursuing their PhD's.
Community Integration - IMPA
"United we rule, divided we fall" Dr. R. Arunachalam firmly believes in integration and unity in communities. When individuals in a community are supportive of each other, it leads to a bigger contribution to society and creates a better world for the future. As a Mudaliar himself, Dr. R. Arunachalam united people from 40 different casts of the Mudaliar community around the world and created IMPA (International Mudaliyar Pillaimar Association).
Revolution in Agriculture
Dr. R. Arunachalam is a visionary with a desire to create leaders of tomorrow and uplift farmers who are the backbone of our country. With this vision of revolutionizing agriculture, a 20-acre land is created as a working agriculture laboratory. Recognizing Dr. R. Arunachalam's contribution to agriculture, ICAR's deputy director invited him to give a presentation in Hyderabad for vice-chancellors from more than 70 agriculture universities. This success story is an inspiration to a number of youths, start-ups and farmers to look at agriculture through a different lense for a sustainable future.
Creation of Temple
Shrungagiri Sri Shanmukha Temple, Sri Arunachaleshwara Temple & Karumari Amma Temple
About 1,30,000 square feet of land was given to Sri Sringeri Sharadha Peetam for the construction of Shringagiri Sri Shanmukha Temple. Once, His Holiness Jagathguru Sri Sri Sri Bharathi Teertha Swamiji said that lord Murugan appeared in his dream and directed him to get the Sri Murugan Temple built by Dr. R. Arunachalam in this very place. Thus, an opportunity to serve the lord was further passionately taken forward to build an iconic temple that is one of the 'Must See' places in Bengaluru and an identity of Rajarajeshwari Nagar. Further Swamiji also blessed the place to be one of the most famous temples in the state of Karnataka. Millions of devotees visit every year to take blessings of the lord and experience the grace of this holy place.
